Remember these basic guidelines for caring for your body:
- Stretch every day for at least 15 minutes. This is a priority on days when you perform services.
- Ice your hands for at least 15 minutes and soak them in warm water with Epsom Salt for 20-30 minutes at the end of your work day. Even if your hands don't hurt, the repetitive movements create inflammation in the joints. Accumulation of this inflammation over time can be a risk factor for arthritis and carpal tunnel.
- Invest in compression socks, compression arm bands and wrist supports. These items help to maintain healthy blood flow to your hands and feet. If you have ever experienced swollen feet at the end of your workday or tingling hands in the middle of the night while you sleep; you need to begin wearing compression socks while working and wrist supports & compression bands while working and sleeping.
