In this lesson I demonstrate an alternative way to create volume and style in natural hair with Mini Twists.
Two-strand twists are a versatile hairstyle that can work on either short or long hair. The basic two-strand twists can be used as a base hairstyle for many different styles or as a wet set. Children can also benefit from this easy-to-keep hairstyle that involves little to no tension.
Remember when creating your twists:
- Create two even sections consistent in length and density before twisting
- Maintain even tension while twisting down the hair strand, and twist all the way to the end of the strand
Creating twists on wet vs. dry hair
- Wet hair- the twists will form to the natural curl pattern of the hair more. They tend to have more volume/fullness, last longer, but also take longer to dry.
- Dry hair- the twists are elongated so that there is more length, but if the clients hair is fine in density, it won't have as much volume.
